The municipal wholesale market of Shimonoseki, opened in April 2001, dealing in fresh seafood and processed goods. On Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays its stalls line up sushi and rice bowls made from the day's catch at Iki-iki Bakangai, and fugu nigiri is a favorite.
