Privacy Policy
LoreMania (ご当地マニア検定; the “Service”) is designed to collect as little personal information as possible. No account is required to use the Service.
1. Information we collect and why
On-device local storage
We store only your progress (the tier you reached, whether you cleared), whether you’ve seen the tutorial, and your sound on/off setting, in your browser’s on-device storage (localStorage).
- These are stored only on your device and are not sent to a server. We keep no personally identifying information such as your name or score history.
- You can erase them anytime by clearing the site’s data in your browser.
Analytics
To improve the Service, we measure access (page views, referrers, and a general breakdown of device types) using Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is cookieless and does not identify individuals.
We also use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), which uses cookies to measure how the Service is used; the data is sent to Google. You can opt out with theGoogle Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. On your first visit we show a consent banner. GA4 runs under Consent Mode v2 with all cookie storage set to “denied” by default until you accept; you can decline at any time. You can also opt out using the add-on above. To change your choice later, use the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of any page — it clears your saved choice and shows the banner again.
Contact form
The text you enter in the form is sent to the operator as a notification. No account is needed. We set limits such as input length to prevent spam.
2. Cookies and ads
- The Web edition may show third-party ads, including Google AdSense. These third parties may use cookies, etc., to show ads tailored to your interests.
- You can disable personalized ads from Google’s ad settings. For details on third-party data use, see each provider’s privacy policy. You can also review and opt out of participating vendors via the Digital Advertising Alliance’s aboutads.info.
- By default we serve non-personalized ads; we do not currently request consent for personalized advertising (analytics consent is handled separately).
- The installed app (PWA) shows no ads.
3. Transfers to external services
The Service uses the following external services. Handling at each follows its own terms and policies. The table below lists, for each destination, what information is sent and for what purpose.

We also send inquiry-form submissions to Slack (see “Contact form” above and Section 5).
4. Provision to third parties
Except as required by law, we do not provide collected information to third parties without your consent.
5. Managing and deleting data
- Locally stored data can be erased by clearing the site’s data in your browser.
- If you want content you submitted via the form deleted, let us know through the form or the contact in the operator information.
- Requests to disclose, correct, or stop using your information can be made via the contact form. Submissions are stored on Slack (a U.S.-based service) as an operator notification, and are deleted after a reasonable retention period once handled.
6. Use by children
The Service is for all ages and does not collect personal information requiring special care.
