Privacy Policy
LoreMania (ご当地マニア検定; the “Service”) is designed to collect as little personal information as possible. No account is required to use the Service.
1. Information we collect and why
On-device local storage
We store only your progress (the tier you reached, whether you cleared), whether you’ve seen the tutorial, and your sound on/off setting, in your browser’s on-device storage (localStorage).
- These are stored only on your device and are not sent to a server. We keep no personally identifying information such as your name or score history.
- You can erase them anytime by clearing the site’s data in your browser.
Analytics
To improve the Service, we measure access (page views, referrers, and a general breakdown of device types) using Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is cookieless and does not identify individuals.
We also use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), which uses cookies to measure how the Service is used; the data is sent to Google. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. For the EEA/UK and other regions that require consent, we are introducing a consent management platform (CMP); until it is in place, you can opt out using the add-on above.
Error-report / region-request form
The text you enter in the form (and, optionally, your contact details) is sent to the operator as a notification. No account is needed and contact details are optional. We set limits such as input length to prevent spam.
2. Cookies and ads
- The Web edition may show third-party ads, including Google AdSense. These third parties may use cookies, etc., to show ads tailored to your interests.
- You can disable personalized ads from Google’s ad settings. For details on third-party data use, see each provider’s privacy policy.
- The installed edition (streaming mode) shows no ads.
3. Transfers to external services
The Service uses the following external services. Handling at each follows its own terms and policies.
- Cloudflare (hosting / cookieless analytics)
- Google AdSense (ad delivery; Web edition only)
- Google Analytics 4 (site-usage analytics; uses cookies)
- Slack (destination for form notifications)
4. Provision to third parties
Except as required by law, we do not provide collected information to third parties without your consent.
5. Managing and deleting data
- Locally stored data can be erased by clearing the site’s data in your browser.
- If you want content you submitted via the form deleted, let us know through the form or the contact in the operator information.
6. Use by children
The Service is for all ages and does not collect personal information requiring special care.
7. Revisions
We may revise this policy as needed and will announce changes on this page.
