KenrokuenKenroku-en

Also known as: Kenrokuen Garden

A strolling-style Japanese garden in Kanazawa that began as the villa Renchitei, built in 1676 by the 5th Kaga lord Maeda Tsunanori, and was expanded by successive lords over roughly 180 years through the 13th lord. Covering about 11.7 hectares, it is ranked alongside Kairakuen and Korakuen as one of Japan's Three Great Gardens and was opened to the public in 1874.
