Also known as: Kotoji Lantern・Kotoji-toro Lantern

A stone lantern beside Kasumigaike Pond in Kenrokuen, believed to have evolved from a snow-viewing lantern designed to illuminate the water's surface. It takes its name from its resemblance to a koto bridge, the small support that holds up the strings of the Japanese koto instrument, and one of its two forked legs is shorter than the other, propped on a stone to keep its balance.
