Maeda TsunanoriMaeda Tsunanori

The 5th lord of the Kaga Domain, born in 1643, who inherited the position at just two years old in 1645 and remained in power until his retirement around 1723, a reign of nearly 80 years. He pursued domain reforms such as land reclamation and the kaisaku-ho tax system, and also built the villa Renchitei, the starting point for what would become Kenrokuen.
