SakurajimaSakurajima

An active stratovolcano rising from Kinko Bay, Sakurajima is one of the Japan Meteorological Agency's continuously monitored volcanoes, currently under an active eruption warning level. Made up of the Kitadake, Nakadake, and Minamidake peaks, it stopped being a true island after the 1914 Taisho eruption connected it to the Osumi Peninsula with lava.
