Hakozaki-gu ShrineHakozaki-gū

Also known as: 筥崎宮・筥崎八幡宮

One of Japan's Three Great Hachimangu shrines, alongside Usa Jingu and Iwashimizu Hachimangu. The main gate bears the inscription 'Tekikoku Kofuku' (Submission of Enemy Nations), a reference to the Mongol invasions. The autumn Hojoya festival fills the long approach to the shrine with food stalls each year.
