Fukuoka CastleFukuoka-jō
Also known as: 福岡城・舞鶴城
A castle built by Kuroda Nagamasa after he was granted the Chikuzen domain following the Battle of Sekigahara. Also called Maizuru Castle (Dancing Crane Castle), its ruins now form Maizuru Park beside Ohori Park. The construction of this castle gave Fukuoka City its name.
