Hagi wareHagiyaki

Also known as: 萩焼・Hagiyaki

Pottery traced to the 1592 invasion of Korea: Ri Shakko and his brother Ri Kei, potters invited by Mori Terumoto, followed him to Hagi and opened the domain's official kiln in Matsumoto village. The coarse clay fires softly, decoration is rare, and the appeal lies in the feel of clay and glaze.
