Hagi & Nagato Quiz

Clear the Hagi-Nagato Local Quiz and earn the Hagi-Nagato Local title. Want to know Hagi & Nagato even better, or already confident? The tougher courses are next.

Hagi keeps its castle-town plan so intact that the city says an Edo-period map still works there. Young men schooled at Shokasonjuku moved the late-Edo world, Hagi ware began in a kiln of the Mori domain, and natsumikan citrus ripened behind the earthen walls. Nagato faces the Sea of Japan: the sea arches and whale tomb of Omijima, Senzaki, where the poet Kaneko Misuzu grew up, Motonosumi Shrine with torii running down to the shore, yakinuki kamaboko, Choshu kurokashiwa chicken and the hot springs of Nagato Yumoto. This quiz moves between a castle town and a port coast, from history and crafts to food and the way people in Yamaguchi talk.
