Daishoin TempleDaishoin

Also known as: 大照院・Daishoin

A Rinzai (Nanzenji branch) temple that the second lord, Mori Tsunahiro, rebuilt between 1654 and 1656 as the memorial temple of his late father, the first lord Hidenari. Its main hall, kitchen-residence, study, bell-gate and sutra repository are Important Cultural Properties, and about 600 stone lanterns line the graveyard.
