Kotsubo
A district in western Zushi occupying a small cove between Zushi Beach and Kamakura's Zaimokuza Beach. Its Kotsubo Fishing Port dates back to the Kamakura period and remains the city's only local fishing industry. Winter brings active wakame and akamoku seaweed harvests, and every January 2 boats take part in a mikan-nage, or orange-throwing ritual, for a good catch and safe seas.
