Ikego Archaeological Site Group
A large archaeological site spanning Ikego in Zushi. Requisitioned by the Imperial Japanese Navy in 1937, the land escaped postwar development, and excavations ahead of US military housing construction from 1989 to 1994 uncovered more than 20,000 artifacts spanning the Paleolithic to modern eras, including Yayoi-period wooden farm tools of national significance.
