Jimmuji

An old Tendai-sect temple in Zushi's Numama district, formally called Iozan Jinmuji. Temple tradition holds it was founded in 724 by the monk Gyoki, and it received the reverence of the Kamakura shogunate, including Minamoto no Yoritomo. Its grounds include the Yakushido Hall (an Important Cultural Property) and several rock-cut yagura tombs, and it counts among the eight scenic views of Zushi.
