Also known as: 横浜開港・Port Opening Anniversary

The 1859 (Ansei 6) opening of Yokohama to foreign trade under the Treaty of Amity and Commerce and related treaties. An offshore outpost was built at the small fishing village of Yokohama, which grew from there into one of Japan's leading trade ports.
