Sentei FestivalSenteisai

Also known as: 先帝祭・Sentei-sai・Senteisai

A three-day festival at Akama Shrine that begins on May 2, the death anniversary of Emperor Antoku. The anniversary fell on the 24th day of the third lunar month, and the Meiji calendar reform fixed it at May 2. It consists of a rite at the mausoleum, the Joro Sanpai and a divine procession, and forms the core of the Shimonoseki Kaikyo Festival.
