The pedestrian level of the Kanmon Road Tunnel, a walkway under the seabed between Shimonoseki and Moji. It is about 780 m long and takes about 15 minutes on foot (the road tunnel as a whole is 3,461 m including approaches, of which about 780 m lies under the seabed). An elevator at each end goes down about 55 m on the Shimonoseki side and about 60 m on the Moji side, and the border between Yamaguchi and Fukuoka lies midway. Walking is free.
