Also known as: 火の山・火の山公園

A mountain in Shimonoseki overlooking the Kanmon Strait and the Kanmon Bridge, 268.2 m high. A beacon-fire station once stood near the summit, which is said to be the origin of the name, and a battery built there in the Meiji era became part of the Shimonoseki Fortress. The public was not allowed up until 1948. Today a park near the summit is known for cherry blossoms, azaleas and the Turkish tulip garden at the foot.
