Atsuta Jinguatsuta-jingu

Also known as: 熱田神宮・熱田さん・熱田・Atsuta Shrine

One of the most venerable Shinto shrines in the Tokai region, situated in central Nagoya, said to enshrine the sacred Kusanagi sword — one of the three Imperial Treasures. Surrounded by a vast forested precinct, the shrine draws enormous crowds for New Year worship and is deeply woven into the city's history.
