Ugafuku Shrine

Commonly known as Zeniarai Benten, this shrine's origin story dates to 1185, when Minamoto no Yoritomo is said to have had a dream instructing him — on the day, month, and year of the snake in the traditional calendar — to enshrine the deity Ugafukujin beside a spring in a rock cave at Sasuke-ga-yatsu. The shrine is famous for the belief that washing money in the cave's spring water will multiply it.
