Hagi Reverberatory FurnaceHagi Hansharo

Also known as: 萩反射炉・Hagi Reverberatory Furnaces

The remains of a trial reverberatory furnace built by the Hagi domain in 1856 to cast Western-style iron cannon. Its chimney survives and became a national historic site in 1924. The domain asked Saga, which had already succeeded, to teach it the method, was refused, and was allowed to sketch the furnace. It is a component of a World Heritage property.
