OyakuenOyakuen

Also known as: Aizu Matsudaira Clan Garden

A daimyo garden belonging to the Aizu Matsudaira family, developed by domain founder Hoshina Masayuki and later named "Oyakuen," or medicinal garden, after the second lord, Masatsune, added a medicinal herb garden. The garden seen today largely reflects a major 1696 redesign by a gardener in the lineage of Kobori Enshu, and it is a national scenic spot.
