Iinuma SadakichiIinuma Sadakichi

Also known as: Iinuma Sadao

A member of the Byakkotai's Shichu Ni-ban-tai squad and the only one of its 20 members to survive their mass suicide attempt on Iimoriyama. After the Meiji Restoration he changed his name to Sadao, became a telegraph engineer for the Ministry of Communications, and in his old age gave the testimony that preserved the Byakkotai story for later generations.
