Also known as: Aizu Shikki
The collective name for lacquerware produced in the Aizu region, whose techniques are said to have advanced dramatically after Gamo Ujisato brought in woodworkers and lacquerers from his home province of Omi in 1590. It is still used today as tableware for local dishes such as kozuyu.
