Hiratsuka City
A city in west-central Kanagawa's Shonan area that flourished as the Edo-period post town of Hiratsuka-juku. Today it is known for the Shonan Hiratsuka Tanabata Festival, often ranked among Japan's three great Tanabata festivals alongside Sendai and Ichinomiya.
