Also known as: 功山寺

A Zen temple in Chofu, Shimonoseki, founded in 1327 by Koan Genjaku. Its Buddha hall, dated by an ink inscription to 1320, is a National Treasure. It is also where Takasugi Shinsaku rose in arms with some eighty men in late 1864, and a stele reading Kaiten Gikyo stands at its gate.
