Kazariyama (Decorative Display Float)Kazariyama
Also known as: 飾り山
Tall, elaborately decorated floats displayed during the Hakata Gion Yamakasa festival but never carried or raced. They are lavishly crafted with figures from historical warrior tales or popular characters. Each float depicts different scenes on its front and back faces. One kazariyama stands in the grounds of Kushida Shrine throughout the entire year.
