Jonenji Front GateJonenji Omotemon

Also known as: 常念寺表門・Jonen-ji Omotemon・Jonen-ji Temple gate・Jonenji Omotemon・Jonenji Temple gate

A four-pillared gate at Jonenji in Hagi's Shimogoken-machi, a national Important Cultural Property. Temple tradition calls it the rear gate of Kyoto's Jurakudai, passed from Toyotomi Hideyoshi to Mori Terumoto, but formal documents do not confirm this. It is an early Edo building with a ridge tablet of 1633.
