阿蘇神社Aso Shrine
The Ichinomiya (first-ranked shrine) of former Higo Province, enshrining twelve deities including Takeiwatatsu-no-Mikoto. Its nationally designated Important Cultural Property gate collapsed entirely in the 2016 Kumamoto earthquakes; about 70% of its original parts were reused in a restoration completed in December 2023.
