農耕祭事farming festivals

Also known as: おんだ祭・御田祭

A nationally designated Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property centered on Aso Shrine and Kokuzo Shrine. Its two pillars are the July 'Onda Festival' (rice-field procession) and the 'Hitaki Shinji' fire ritual, kept burning for 59 days from August 19 to October 16.
