健磐龍命Takeiwatatsu-no-Mikoto
The chief deity of Aso Shrine, said to have opened up the Aso region. Legend holds he kicked open the caldera's rim to drain a lake inside it and create farmland — the 'Tateno kick-breach' story — with the released water said to have become the Shirakawa River.
