Nanukamachi-doriNanukamachi-dōri

The western gateway of the old castle town, where the Nikko, Echigo, and Yonezawa highways once met, lined with wholesalers and inns through the feudal era. Buildings from the Meiji through early Showa periods still stand along the street today, giving it the retro, Taisho-era atmosphere it is now known for.
