The JR East station that serves as Aizuwakamatsu's main gateway, served by the Ban-etsu West Line and the Tadami Line. It opened simply as "Wakamatsu Station" and was renamed to its current "Aizuwakamatsu Station" in 1917; the station building's exterior is styled to evoke Tsuruga Castle.
