A woven cotton textile from the Aizu region, tracing back to 1590 when Gamo Ujisato began cotton cultivation there. Hoshina Masayuki later encouraged domain samurai's wives to weave it as a home industry, and the cloth is known for its striped patterns and its thick, durable texture.
