鋳銭司 (Suzenji)

Also known as: 鋳銭司・鋳銭司村・Suzenji

A district in southern Yamaguchi City, the former Suzenji village. The name comes from an ancient office that minted coins; after the Nagato mint office was abolished in 825, a mint was set up in Suo. It is read Suzenji rather than "Chusenshi", and the district is also the birthplace of Omura Masujiro.
