Also known as: 首里城・首里城跡・Shurijo Site
The royal castle at the center of the Ryukyu Kingdom's politics and diplomacy. While reconstruction proceeds after the 2019 fire destroyed the main hall, the World Heritage object is the underground remains of the "Shuri Castle Site," not the surface buildings.
