Uirōuiro
Also known as: ういろう・外郎・Nagoya uiro
A traditional steamed Japanese confection associated above all with Nagoya, made from rice flour, wheat starch, and sugar. Its firm yet yielding mochi-like texture and plain, gentle sweetness have made it a cornerstone souvenir sold at Nagoya Station. While other regions of Japan also make uirō, the Nagoya version is the most widely recognised.
