Tokugawa Muneharutokugawa-muneharu

Also known as: 徳川宗春・7th lord of Owari

The seventh lord of the Owari Tokugawa domain, remembered for taking a distinctly liberal approach to governance at a time when the shogunate under Tokugawa Yoshimune was promoting strict austerity. By relaxing regulations and encouraging commerce, theatre, and festivals, Muneharu is credited with fostering Nagoya's traditionally spirited, pleasure-loving urban culture.
