Nagononagono

Also known as: 那古野・Nagono district・ancient Nagoya

The old place name for the area that would eventually lend its pronunciation to the city of Nagoya. The district is said to have been home to Nagono Castle, where Oda Nobunaga spent part of his childhood, making it a significant site in the city's pre-modern history.
