Kiyosu-goshikiyosu-goshi
Also known as: 清洲越し・清須越し・Kiyosu Relocation
The massive relocation of the castle town, temples, shrines, and populace from Kiyosu (the former seat of Owari Province) to the newly built city around Nagoya Castle in the early seventeenth century. The move effectively created modern Nagoya as an organised urban centre, and traces of it survive in the city's street names and temple locations today.
