Kinshachikinshachi
Also known as: 金鯱・金のしゃちほこ・金しゃち・golden shachihoko
The pair of golden shachihoko — mythical tiger-headed, fish-tailed creatures — that crown the ridge of Nagoya Castle's keep. Placed as protective talismans against fire, the male and female figures differ slightly in size, and the gold used in their construction has been replaced and refined through history.
