Honmaru Gotenhonmaru-goten

Also known as: 本丸御殿・Nagoya Castle Main Palace

The residential palace of the Owari domain lords, originally built within the main enclosure of Nagoya Castle. Considered the finest surviving example of early modern castle-palace architecture, the building was destroyed in wartime air raids and has since been painstakingly reconstructed in timber following historical records.
