Zaimokuza

Zaimokuza is the coastal district immediately east of Yuigahama. Its name is said to derive from a merchants' guild (“za”) that dealt in the timber needed to build the temples and samurai residences of the Kamakura period. The guild's formation gave rise to toimaru brokers who handled the timber trade, forerunners of later lumber wholesalers.
