Koshigoe

Koshigoe is a district at Kamakura's western edge, near the Fujisawa border. In 1185, after defeating the Taira clan, Minamoto no Yoshitsune was barred from entering Kamakura and is said to have written his letter of appeal, the “Koshigoe-jo,” to his brother Yoritomo at the temple Manpukuji here.
