Wakamiya-oji
Wakamiya-oji is Kamakura's main boulevard, running from Yuigahama Beach to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu. Minamoto no Yoritomo laid out the approach road in 1182, and the raised central walkway known as Dankazura is said to have been built to pray for the safe childbirth of his wife, Hojo Masako.
