Hakata StationHakata-eki

Also known as: 博多駅

Kyushu's largest railway terminal, served by Sanyo and Kyushu Shinkansen, JR conventional lines, and the Fukuoka City Subway. The station is named 'Hakata' even though the city is officially named 'Fukuoka' — the name mismatch reflects the historic Fukuoka-Hakata dual identity. It is the primary gateway for travelers arriving in Fukuoka.
