キジgreen pheasant
Aso City's official bird. The green pheasant, also Japan's national bird, is designated alongside the city emblem, flower (rindou gentian), and tree (Miyama Kirishima azalea) as a symbol of the city's natural environment, set out together with its citizens' charter.
