Wappa-meshiWappa-meshi
A regional dish of rice steamed together with mountain vegetables and mushrooms in a thin bent-wood container called a wappa. One account credits its invention to the longstanding Aizuwakamatsu restaurant Takino around 1970, though Niigata also has its own separate claim to having invented the dish.
