A signature Aizu dish of thinly sliced raw horse meat, eaten with soy sauce and condiments such as grated garlic. Aizu is counted alongside Kumamoto and Nagano as one of Japan's three great basashi-producing regions, sometimes paired with Kumamoto in the saying "Kumamoto in the west, Aizu in the east."
