Yokosuka City
Yokosuka is a core city on the Miura Peninsula in southeastern Kanagawa, home to both the US Navy's forward-deployed Yokosuka base and a Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force base. In the late Edo period, it led Japan's modernization as the site of the Yokosuka Ironworks.
